According to an article published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), 84% of industries with 100 or more employees used advanced digital technologies during the year 2022. This survey indicates an important path for medium and small industries , which need to follow the steps of the larger companies to gain their space in the market.
The research presented by IBGE reveals essential data for understanding how digital equipment and tools have revolutionized the way of production in industries. According to the study, 73.6% of factories said they used cloud computing in their production process and 48.6% of them registered the use of the Internet of Things (IoT). Furthermore, robotics was used in 27.7% of the industries observed.
Some of the large factories analyzed by the research were also up to date with the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. The percentage of these corresponds to 16.9%.
The majority of industries investigated, around 31.5%, stated that they use two or more of these technologies.
